Situation

Set up an in-house Usability Lab together in collaboration with product owners to quickly validate new designs and test variations. This provided us with valuable insights to better understand the results of our experiments.

We had previously conducted usability sessions with an external agency for major redesigns. While the insights gained were valuable, they required a significant amount of preparation time and where time consuming.

Results

• Set up re-usable documentation and usability scripts.
• After the first trial, it has also been used by other product owners.
• Validation in one hour with most Usability Lab sessions prepared and scheduled a few days in advance.
• The internal expertise of different colleagues within the company has been fully used to improve experiments and designs.
• Validation of desktop website 🖥️ and smartphone app 📱.
